[Life] A short update to shake the nerves off

So, it's been a while since I've updated my LJ. It's been so long that Livejournal itself updated! Everything looks very odd, after years and years of the familiar interface.

I've been meaning to do a proper post-Singapore update to cap off those hastily-scrawled posts I'd made while we were there. However, I've been a bit preoccupied with real life things, which is good, I suppose. I'll probably make that post when I've finished cropping and prettifying my shitty iPhone snaps. :))

I also would like to make a post /about/ the RL things. I accidentally went on an archive binge of this account a few days ago, and feasted on the naiveté of 2007!Hope, and I've realised how little of this blog is about the things I do and think anymore, just about... books, which are wonderful in their own way, but I want to read back in seven years and be able to connect with 2014!Hope. I've become a lot more secretive (in my old age) that it's hard to not censor myself. This is probably why my creative writing has been stymied as well. Polite, packaged Swann doesn't make for interesting writing. Writing a blog post after coming out of a nearly four-day fever doesn't make for interesting writing either. Well, whatever.

I also have a reading post in the offing. :))) I haven't been reading a lot, but there are around four or five books in the queue now.

Third Homestuck prom later, and I'm pretty excited. That probably deserves a post. Eventually.
